About Me

Welcome to my blog! This is my first post ever. I thought, that since I found myself spending way too much time working and less time on the phone or with friends and family, it would be a great idea to get all my thoughts out via blogging.

My name is Luz Castañeda, though some people call me Lucy. Thus the name Lucy Graphics. I was born in 1986 to a creative genius and a loving home-maker. My father, being a singer, songwriter, painter, and all-around creator of anything imaginable, has been my greatest inspiration. My mother, to keep my sisters and I busy, would have us draw, scribble, write, or create anything we could imagine out of paper. At the age of 5 I decided that when I grew up, I would choose a career as a famous painter or origami artist, and yet, for some reason, I did not.

In high school, my two main fields of study were art and information technology. In college, I decided to become a psychology major, and minored in art. Somehow, one of my required classes was a computer class, so, of course, I chose commercial art. For an asignment, I made my first logo for my husband, and my career took off from there!

Now I spend countless hours in front of my laptop thinking of what would have become of me if I had continued to study psychology. For now, I am glad to be doing what I love, creating visual artforms for others to enjoy!
